A full resale renovation takes 8–10 weeks from start of work: roughly two weeks of hacking and wet works, two of tiling, two to three of carpentry fabrication and installation, then painting, fittings and cleaning. Lighter refresh packages finish in 4–6 weeks.
If the flat is over 25 years old, has the original DB box, or you notice two-pin sockets — yes. Rewiring during renovation costs $3,500–$6,500 while walls are already open; retrofitting it later costs far more and damages finished surfaces.
